From head trained, own rooted vines planted in the late 1920’s in the sandy Tokay soils near the Mokelumne River in Lodi. The vineyard benefits from the interplay between the Mokelumne and the California Delta, and was named in honor of the mule drawn plane that leveled the soil before planting. 100% whole cluster and fermented spontaneously, then aged fourteen months sur lie in a neutral 500L French Oak puncheon.
